Diploma in Computer Studies

This vocational program allows students to gain specific skills, particularly in Business and IT, that are highly demanded by employers. Two courses are learnt in each of the four terms. The following subjects are studied. Please click on the headings to get more information.

This course is ideal for individuals who don’t have a High School Diploma and wish to go to university. As it only lasts 1 year, it is well suited to students who want a well-recognized qualification but don’t want to spend much time in getting one. If the course is taken part time, it will take 2 years to complete.

- E-Administration & Accounting

Essential to the survival of any organization is the planning, monitoring, and control of its financial and other resources, a task that requires attention to and understanding of many important issues, methods, tools, and regulations. This diploma concentrates on the numerous ways and forms of business organization, tax planning and record keeping, and various accounting functions. It teaches computer skills so students gain familiarity with current versions of software used in accounting. As part of this diploma, you take the following courses:

- Network Administration

This diploma teaches the fundamentals of system and networking management and administration. The course emphasizes theoretical concepts and practical application. Students learn about operating systems, system architecture, software development, and hardware maintenance. As part of this diploma, you take the following courses:

- Graphic Design

The graphic design diploma educates students in design methods, design theory, creative problem solving and visual and verbal literacy. This diploma is designed to provide students with a combination of aesthetic design principles and technical expertise. It explores questions and issues surrounding technical choice: from the performance of the client-server architecture of the World Wide Web, to the various technical standards and recommendations for the creation and distribution of information. The course also covers issues related to usability and accessibility, navigation, site structure, and information architecture. As part of this diploma, you take the following courses:

- Audio-Visual Editing

- Software Development & Database Management

TStudents who take this course discover the fundamentals of an object-oriented approach to software development. Up-to-date analytical techniques and processes are introduced that are essential for specifying, designing and implementing a software system. The design, implementation, and utilization of database management systems are also taught, including the various data structures and database models. In addition, the course teaches the administrative tasks required in a database management environment. As part of this diploma, you take the following courses:
